About
Songs. Old Man Kelly is no stranger to song, but don’t call him a singer-songwriter. He’s been around the block more times than he can count, taking laps past punk rock, Irish music, Appalachian old-time, alt-country, nautical music, and French chansons. The arsenal is vast — banjo, guitar, accordion, drums, harmonica, fiddle, and kazoo are all fair game.
Stories. Old Man Kelly is no stranger to adventure, either. He has traveled the world on foot, with naught but a fiddle and his wit, and lived to tell the tale. And tell tales he will. Some of them are true, some pure Blarney, and you won’t want to know which is which.
Shanties. The Old Man Kelly experience is not for the passive consumer. We’ll be singing. Together. Shanties from the high seas and call-and-response work songs mean that you’ll be part of the music. Otherwise, you’ll be scrubbing dishes in the galley.
Shenanigans. Mischief. Tomfoolery. Hijinks and horseplay. Monkeyshines and merrymaking. Rougish revelry. You get the idea.
Old Man Kelly. You kids get off my lawn and come out to the show!
